Hello everybody, this is Rocky with the For The King podcast. If you're new to this channel, this podcast channel, this episode serves as the pilot episode with the purpose of getting to know me, your host, Rocky, and what to expect from the content from this podcast. So the purpose and goal is for this to be a symposium of information and thought from me, Rocky, informed by a lot of books and articles and research with friends, family, and colleagues.
I hope to have many people on the podcast. It's not going to be me. Like
this pilot episode, it's just a monologue of me.
This will not be normal. There will
be many people I will invite to come and to join me on this podcast. So the title is For The King.
And you're probably asking yourself what that means. Well, the mosaic that I put
in the album art for the podcast is actually Christ as conquer over the beasts. So beasts or the animal kingdom or nature itself is thought of as wild.
In the Bible, the narrative
starts with God creating humans in a garden that is wild and overgrown. And what does he tell them to do? He tells the humans, God himself tells the humans to go into 10 the garden to cultivate, to tend and expand. So Christ being the conquer over the beasts, both the serpent, which is the head, the paragon of disorder, which is Satan himself.
He is
at the top of all chaos and disorder. He is where it all comes from. Jesus conquers the beasts, the disorder, the disarray.
He puts all things under his feet. So this podcast
is dedicated to the King, King Jesus, who is the son of God incarnate, fully God and fully man, dying on the cross for the sins of humanity, being buried and resurrected in three days and victory over sin and death that he might pay the penalty of our sin. That is what the podcast is dedicated to.
And for I believe that the Bible is authoritative,
inerrant and holy true. My hermeneutic throughout this podcast will be to faithfully try to maintain exegesis and to take into account the full council, the full council of scripture. That is just a wise thing to do when considering that the King is Jesus and the Bible for the Orthodox Christian is God's words put on paper for our benefit for us to know who he is.
The content of this podcast will be a litany of topics under categories such as theology and philosophy. There's a book by Albert M. Walters called Creation Regained that I really enjoyed. You guys should pick up a copy.
In the book, he kind of starts off building a
framework of theology and philosophy and he says that theology is the direction of human history. Theology is appropriate in any field, whether it's any of the hard sciences such as biology, physics, environmental science, things like that, chemistry. Your theology will guide and direct the inferences you make based on theories in these fields.
In biology
we have evolutionary biology with the theory of evolution. Your theology will direct you if you ought to accept or reject such a theory. Philosophy is the structure of the universe.
The main branch dealing with structure in the known world is metaphysics. Meta meaning high, above, or past. Physics being the basic fundamental forces in the world.
Metaphysics
would be something like the nature of time, the nature of reality itself. What is the ultimate reality that we are in? Philosophy will help us build a structure on how to understand this world. Theology is the direction where this world is headed.
This podcast will also
cover politics, political theory, political ideology, political philosophy. I also hope to cover some ground in human health paradigms and nutrition which goes into the theology of the body. I am an avid reader so I would like to do book reviews or storytelling of books that I'm reading and information I'm gathering from that that might be useful to you guys and you can always pick up those copies for yourself.
I would like this to
also be an outlet for current world events. That is a goal of this podcast is just to have a voice as a Christian to engage in public discourse. In Acts we see Paul going to the Aropicus and interacting with the Greek philosophers.
The Greek philosophers of this age are the
scientist, the politician, whomever is at the top of the hierarchy of power in our world that we live in. I would just like to have an opinion and have words to say about some of these topics. God created the world from his words.
Words are very powerful and I would
like to have a voice. That is one of the goals of this podcast is just to have a Christian voice engaging with the topics of our culture. Most positions under the categories of human health, the book reviews, politics, things like that will be mainly my opinion based on a biblical worldview.
I will obviously try to persuade all of you of what I think
about some of these things. There's a lot of different theories and philosophy but my theology is orthodox and not controversial. I will labor to expound on orthodoxy to support a point in response to current events, something like homosexuality or abortion.
I also hope
to do some scientific topics in climate research or quantum biology. We'll see where we go. Most of the podcasts will be around 20 to 30 minutes, maybe up to an hour or two hours at time but nothing too terribly short.
It will basically surround whether the topic
warrants a longer discussion or not. I am hoping to have two different series that are engaged with often. I'm going to have my Sunday series with my brother Bryce where we release every Sunday some theological foundational topic that we see in scripture and we will make a biblical case for that with extra biblical resources as well.
I also hope to do, I may
change the name, I'm just kind of starting out here but right now it's called Wonky Wednesdays and this will be the more political theory, politics, human health, paradigms, theology of the body, current world events, stuff like that. That will be that outlet. Theology and philosophy will be for Sundays so keep that in mind as you look for the releases and what the title of each podcast is and that will help you delineate what you should expect from that.
There's either going to be a theological topic on the Sundays with
philosophy undergirding that or politics, political theory, human health, theology of the body, scientific topics like climate research or quantum biology. That might be more the Wonky Wednesday and really what I want the Wonky Wednesday to accomplish is more fringe postmodern Christian topics that we need to address as Christians and have an answer to so I hope to engage in that public discourse and have a response as a Christian and enable Christians to have answers to some things that our culture talks about that maybe aren't. That's biblical or maybe the world takes it in an evil non-biblical way.
So those are
the goal for the Wonky Wednesdays and the Sunday series is purely theology and hopefully foundational just straight up encouraging things for the Christian and for the non-Christian alike if you just want to learn about the Bible. So another point I want to make for you guys to expect is marketing and advertising. So I do not believe in advertising the way that the West does it.
So maybe I'll do a Wonky Wednesday about this but just for right
now the point I would like to labor is that it is a fundamental mishandling of people's time and attention. So if anybody is a content creator and they gain listener support or just a listener base in general you have now gained those people's trust. They like your content so they're coming back to listen to it and because of that you have a lot of eyes on your channel advertising marketing agencies things like that will contact you and say we'd like to do an ad for you.
Would you like to do an ad so that we can advertise. And
basically for your guys' time and attention that you have not given me if I were to do marketing and advertising permission I basically stab you guys in the back and would put something in that is kind of constraining my content, part of my content to what the marketing or advertisement is. And another element of that is there are people that will pull funding because they do not like your message or what you're saying.
And I don't want to put myself
in a situation like that where if I'm coming from a Christian perspective and I don't want to have to cater my message to my advertisers right. That's not good and not being careful with my gift of free speech I've been given by the government and by God himself. So I don't agree with marketing/advertising but there's a great way you guys can support me, your host Rocky and the For The King podcast.
You can go to anchor.fm. There's going to
be a link I think on every single podcast episode of where you can go there to anchor.fm and you can use that link to support me if you would feel so inclined. I would really appreciate the financial support first of all. That's a way you can put your money where you find value in content.
If you like that I'm a Christian young man espousing ideas
and biblical worldview that you guys think should be at the forefront right of society. Well then if you want to give me more of a platform you can always support me financially and I could branch out into projects or I guess I don't know what I could exactly do with a lot of money as I'm just starting out now but I imagine I could fund other projects to bring other things in or maybe we could talk about a ministry you guys would like me to donate to or just things like that. I would really appreciate it if you guys feel so inclined.
The thing I would ask for even more so than financial support which would
be very helpful for me as a young man. I would also really appreciate prayers if you guys could just pray for me that this content would be encouraging that people would come to know Christ through it. People would come to know who Jesus is and what God's word says and that there is a creator.
He created the world and we have rebelled against him and there's
only one way. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. There's one way to escape the wrath that is coming and today is the day for salvation.
So if you would just pray for this podcast
that people would come to know Christ and that God would be glorified I would really appreciate that. So a little bit about me and then I will be on my merry way and you guys can check out the rest of the content and get started. My name is Rocky.
I am a
graduate student at a university in Indiana. Getting my master's in ecological and environmental engineering. I received my undergraduate degree in environmental science so that if we're talking about credentials or an authority on a subject that is I guess what I know very well.
I started following Jesus at the end of my junior year of high school. I did not
grow up a Christian. I started following Jesus much later in my life and I've since been on a quest for truth as most other people are and I imagine you guys are as well.
Jesus
Christ is that truth. I feel they're all information through a biblical world view and maybe at some point I will share with you guys more about some of the arguments or rationale that I found compelling that drew me to Jesus but that could be you know for another episode. I would like to make it known that I hope I'm not an obstinate or hard-headed person.
I don't think anybody's described me as that. So if you guys find something that I hit on to be particularly interesting you can encourage me by letting me know at for the key podcast at gmail.com you can send me an email and let me know what you guys think. If you find something problematic do the same.
Interact with me on it. I will provide ways to contact me mainly by email as of right now
unless I can maybe get a website up and going. If I could get enough support financial support maybe I could do that or you know just see that goes.
If you have a topic that you want me to talk
about you can let me know that too or if I did a poor job on one you can always let me know. Maybe we could do if you if you you can you can shoot me an email and say hey I would love to be on the podcast podcast I'm an authority on this subject and I would like to talk to you about it. We can always do a zoom call and we could do a podcast concerning the topic that you would like.
So that's always an option too. So again I want this to be a podcast that's very practical and accessible to almost anybody. I don't want it to be an echo chamber.
I would love to have a non
theist come on the show. Other religions come on the show. Other denominations of Christianity come on the show.
Whoever would be of use to a certain topic that I find worth talking about
and I imagine you guys would as well. So give me a shout out. Let me know if what kind of content you guys like or ways I could improve.
I'm always improving. I've already got much better at this.
This is actually a rebroadcast of the pilot episode because the first one was just atrocious.
So sorry it was so bad for those of you that encountered it. So there's a general outline of what you should expect from the For the King podcast. I hope the Lord blesses it and it's informative and just fun to listen to.
I imagine I'll get better at this. Bear with me guys. There
probably won't be very many monologues like this.
Please pray for the con the content and for the
podcast itself and that people would come to know the gospel. Come to know who Jesus Christ is. It would be glorified by it.
So this is your host Rocky. This is the For the King podcast pilot
episode. May God bless it.
I'm so excited to do this. I've been just really eager to get going.
So please pray for me.
Please pray for the podcast. Thank you so much for listening. Please
support me in prayers or financially whatever you feel so inclined and the Lord would convict you to do.
Yeah. So I appreciate it guys. Thanks for listening.
This is the For the King podcast.
This is your host Rocky. Enjoy the show.
For the King.
