However, David's subsequent affair with Bathsheba and plot to cover it up by having her husband Uriah killed invites the wrath of God, as it is seen as an evil deed. David's actions demonstrate that even heroes are human and susceptible to wrongdoing. Ultimately, he confronts and repents for his sins.
